  9. Oscar was the great-grandson of a freed 
  10. slave. He attended Crispus Attucks High 
  11. School, which was an all-black school in 
  12. Indiana. With Oscar leading the way, the 
  13. school won two state titles. No all-black
  14. school had ever won the state title before.

  16. ΓÇ£The Big O" went on to play for the University 
  17. of Cincinnati. There he led the NCAA in 
  18. scoring and was Player of the Year
  19. each season from 1958 to 1960.
